All new 5-series reel has new side handle design. This allows the handle and spool to be machined to exact tolerances so that not even #24 line, cannot pass between the spool and the handle. The closed end billet handle allows ambidextrious use for vertical or horizontal depoloyment of line. A lockdown drag screw is built into the handle at the outer edge of the spool to allow precise drag adjustment or total lockdown.
